Woody Funeral Homes and Cremation Service has been providing funeral and cremation services for families in metropolitan Richmond, Virginia, since 1905. Our commitment has remained unchanged for more than a century, and we have continued to respond to the changing needs of our community.

Homegrown Heritage

Born in Richmond, Virginia, shortly after the conclusion of the Civil War, Henry W. Woody lived all his life in the city and established the Woody Funeral Home near Historic St. John’s Church in 1905. Due largely to his reputation of professionalism and integrity, the business outgrew the original facility and a new, more modern building was built at 25th Street and Jefferson Avenue in 1916.

Growing Business

Woody Funeral Home was moved to Laburnum Avenue in 1966 and opened as Richmond’s first garden-type funeral home. Since 1966, 3 additional locations have opened. Woody Funeral Home-Parham includes a crematory, which serves all of our locations and was the first in Richmond to be associated with a funeral home.

Mr. Woody began our company with a commitment to a high standard of service excellence, and throughout our history, we have continued to lead and innovate while maintaining those high standards of service. The staff at Woody Funeral Home-Parham is proud to uphold this heritage and continued commitment to our community.

What We Do:

We specialize in the care and management of cardiothoracic surgery, cardiopulmonary and cardiovascular patients. We also provide high quality in-home health care services to include, Skilled Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Speech Therapy for the greater Richmond area and surrounding counties and cities.
